AJ de Villiers Sitrus
The farm was established in 1983. Started as a crop farm and first Citrus trees planted in 1995.The farm was established by Kobus de Villers and his son Abe de Villiers joined the farming activities after studies. The farm is currently under management of co - owners Father and son Duo.There is 43 ha of citrus and another 11 ha is currently been developed for new plantings. There are also 14ha of Apples and we are busy with trails on other varieties as well as other types of fruit. There are other crops such as Tobacco, maize, wheat and dry beans. We also have a herd of Bonsmara Cattle The farm currently employs 40 permanent employees and between 40 – 60 seasonal workers.
AJ de Villiers farming consists of Citrus (Navels Valencia’s and Lemons) 44 Ha which is in full production and the reaping and packing is from middle March till middle August with 70 percent of the crop being under netting means that 95 percent of fruit are being exported and the other 5percent is for local markets.
